Litho printing involves using a laser to burn an image onto a metal plate. This plate is then loaded onto the printing press and treated in a particular way so that only vegetable-based inks adhere to the image area and not the non-image area. The inked image is then transferred (or ‘offset’) onto a rubber blanket and then onto the printing surface. This surface can be card or paper. This process is normally used for high volume print runs.
